History[]

The Avatars first bring the Angel of Azaveyr to the hero and Uaanta's attention when they steal a powerful artifact from a group of Nieboheim mages. They escape with the artifact before the heroes arrival, and recede to a dragon graveyard. Prior to stealing the artifact, Remthalas warned them not to underestimate the Avatar's champions but Voyna seems unconcerned, also agreeing to leave the hero for Remthalas.

When the Avatars champions first arrive to meet her she claims her cause is in pursuit of justice, implying her homeland was once under siege by dragons. She speaks of receiving guidance from the "Whisper" which is now a part of her. She maintains her goal is to destroy dragons, and claims the heroes dragon will betray them, and mentions what happened with Caitiff as an example. After being struck by Uaanta, it is revealed this version of the Angel was an illusion.

Appearance[]

The Angel wears a long dark cloak that covers their entire body. They cover their face with a mask resembling the mask of tragedy. There is a green crown-like halo that floats slightly above her head, and a large glove on her right hand, presumably made from dragon bone.

Beneath the cloak she has long white hair and bright green eyes. She has a golden breast-plate and white body suit beneath, one leg is grey with a green and black line pattern on it.

Personality[]

The Angel of Azaveyr presents themselves as calm, even in the face of pending assault, and in fact seems to welcome such challenges. It is mentioned they have nightmares about dragons as well as a level of hatred and animosity towards them.

Quests[]

No Rest For Dragons

Angel of Azaveyr: Our burdens are ours alone to bear. They are what they are.
Angel of Azaveyr: The terror begets peace.
Angel of Azaveyr: To what pleasure do we owe this visit?
Angel of Azaveyr: They have not yet met us.
Angel of Azaveyr: Are we to leave that one to you then?
Angel of Azaveyr: Very well.
Angel of Azaveyr: ...
Angel of Azaveyr: Then let them come.
Angel of Azaveyr: And if they don't, we shall hunt them to the ends of Lore.
Angel of Azaveyr: Calm in this darkened crypt, the screams and roar no longer haunt me, yet the voice whispers still, murmurs still, carries me, drives me, sustains me- a bond forged in desperation, a magick unleashed and radiant with fury, with vengence, with justice. And yet a voice whispers still, my eternal vigil. While in these empty catacombs, I await the calm.

Await The Calm

Angel of Azaveyr: And what would you use such power for, Champion of the Avatars?
Angel of Azaveyr: We can hear you, you know.
Voyna: Please, call us Voyna. And please, answer our question, Uaanta.
Voyna: You call this a waste. But what would you use this power for?
Voyna: No
Voyna: You intruded on our resting grounds, and interrupted our meditation.
Voyna: We would like to know what drives you. Then we answer you.
Voyna: Then we are more alike than you think, Uaanta.
Voyna: This Darkness, this Doom, is but a tool. We use it to protect those that cannot defend themselves
Voyna: We defend this continent from the scourge, the betrayal of the dragons!
Voyna: And yet you claim moral superiority because the Avatars tell you that your actions are correct.
Voyna: So full of righteous fury. We know that feeling well.
Voyna: But you have sated our curiosity, for now. We will answer your questions.
Voyna: We are warrior and spirit, bound by ancient pact. We saved our people from the betrayal of the dragons, and we defend them still.
Voyna: We are the Angel!
Voyna: We know why you are here, servants of the Avatars. You are here to retrieve what is so precious to them.
Voyna: You see? Do you see?
Voyna: You serve these masters, yet they do not give you the information you need.
Voyna: They hide and obscure knowledge. They send you to you Doom, expecting faith and trust in return.
Voyna: We serve nothing but our own justice. If that aligns us against the Avatars, so be it.
Voyna: Where were they when our villages were destroyed by the dragons who swore to protect them?
Voyna: Where were they when our comrades fell in the mountains, far from home, to dragonbreath and claws?
Voyna: No they were not with us, but the Whisper was.
Voyna: The Whisper understood our pain. Our helplessness.
Voyna: And so we accepted it, and we saved our people.
Voyna: And now... we are one.
Voyna: The Avatars are fools who cannot clean up after their own messes.
Voyna: We will stop the threat of the dragons.
Voyna: Yes.
Voyna: And we will save all of Lore from the inevitable betrayal.
Voyna: Including yours.
Voyna: Did it not happen already before? With...Caitiff?
Voyna: We make our own choices. Devastator made theirs, and allowed itself to be used against you.
Voyna: Who is to say it wouldn't make that decision again?
Voyna: We suppose it would be a waste of all of our time for us to ask that you forfeit the dragon to us willingly?
Voyna: We like you, Uaanta. You're decisive. You regret nothing.
Voyna: Come. We await you still, deeper in the catacombs.
Voyna: That dragon will know the path.
