Necromancer is one of the three classes that Artix von Krieger can take the player to be trained, in this case redirecting them to Zorbak.
In order to train this armor, players have to complete the Noxus Fumes quest, as well as fully training the Paladin class. Upon handing a Undead Slayer Badge, the armor is unlocked. Should the player completely train its skills, one can finally unlock the DeathKnight armor.

Overview[]
Skill acquisition is a process of giving Zorbak a total of 15 Undead Slayer Badges (1 to unlock the armor, 14 for all the skills), which can be obtained via Artix's random quests. Originally, slots would unlock by alternating between the left and right sides. Although the armor can be used by all players, any skills on the right side need a Dragon Amulet to execute.
Necromancer's main feature is its ability to summon Undead minions to attack the enemy, chosen from one's repertoire according to the skill used. The ranks include: Boot, misshapen, or spearman minions (1-hit attackers); knight and mage minions (2-hit attackers); and commander minion (3-hit attacker). As for updates, the first version of the class used the Necroblade as its default weapon, later changed into the Necrostaff, and offered the following skills:[1]
- Horrify - 1 hit of 100% damage, or 2 hits of 100% damage (total 200% dmg.), or 3 hits of 100% damage (total 300% dmg.) to target's MP depending on random summon (cost: 5 MP; 2 CD; text: "Call an undead minion who targets MP").
- Diversion - Applies +80 Block to target, and -50 elem. res. to all enemies for 3 turns (10 MP; 4 CD; "Target: +80 Block. All: 150% Dmg").
On July 3, 2014, the class was revamped,[2][3] and these two skills were replaced by Inner Will and Dark Boon, respectively. More importantly, it was given the passive ability Fear Aura, an automatic Fear damage-over-time effect on each round that lasts 99 turns. It affects all enemies, and uses one's equipped weapon to calculate damage. It is a stacking mechanic, 1 granted per skill usage (not potions or trinkets), capping at 20. The formula is:[4]
Shadow Seed is a special skill that has an effect that takes place 3 turns after activating it, adding an attack before one uses that turn's skill through the summoning of a minion. Its attack modifier will be adopted from the skill it appears in conjunction with. The summon, however, will be cancelled if Corruption or Inspire Terror are used on the attacking turn;[4] Inspire Terror also removes two turns from the 3-turn delay, and is thus only compatible if used on the second turn.[1] Originally it summons were the random ones from Raise Minion (formerly, Summon) with the same of number of hits,[1] but since the update, it summons minions in accordance to the skill it accompanies. For example:[4]
- Basic Attack - Summons random minion, then character attacks normally (2-4 hits).
- Summon Familiar - Summons random minion, then misshapen minion attacks (2-4 hits).
- Raise Minion - Summons two random minions to attack (2-6 hits).
- Summon Champion - Summons random minion, then commander minion, all critical hits (4-6 hits).
On June 3, 2016, the armor's old look was added as a cosmetic variant at the Falconreach Libraseum for Dragon Amulet owners alongside Paladin's.[5] Posterior updates to the class included balance changes to its skills Fear Ward, Life Tap,[6] and Shroud of the Undead[7] on March 2019,[6][7] as well as Armor Customization options on October 16, 2020.[8]
