Paladin is one of three classes that Artix von Krieger can allow the player to be taught. Sword-wielding warriors with healing capabilities, Paladins are slayers of Undead and protectors of the innocent.
Upon release, one needed to complete the story quest Noxus Fumes to access it, but nowadays only handing Artix a Undead Slayer Badge is necessary. Additionally, official weapons and helmet can be bought from him. Only upon fully training this armor can the player obtain the Necromancer class, and after its completion, DeathKnight.

Overview[]
To acquire skills, players must give Undead Slayer Badges to Artix, which are obtained by completing his random quests. Originally, slots would unlock by alternating between the left and right sides. A total of 15 badges (14 for skills, 1 to unlock) are needed. Although the class is available to all players, right-side skills are Dragon Amulet-only.
On its first release, the armor had the passive effect of multiplying a player's min and max damage by 1.1 against targets of Undead race (excluding the Phoenix Song skill).[1] It was marked by the presence of the following skill:
- Zeal - 3 hits of 70% damage (total 210% dmg.) (cost: 25 MP; 4 CD; text: "Use the weapon to attack").
Around September 25, 2014,[2][3] the armor was redesigned, appearance and skill-wise. Amongst the many updates, Zeal was merged with Blinding Light to form the skill Light of Dawn, and the brand-new Barrier of Sanctuary took its former slot. Protection of Darkness and Weaken were renamed and given stronger effects against Undead enemies, with the former also getting damaging capabilities. However, and more importantly, the armor was given the passive ability Inner Light, an automatic healing-over-time effect on each round that lasts 99 turns. It is a stacking mechanic, with each skill usage adding 1 stack (which heals the player for 0.15% of their maximum HP). Capped at 20, Inner Light will heal 3% HP each turn.[3]
On June 3, 2016, the old art was added as a cosmetic variant at the Falconreach Libraseum for Dragon Amulet owners.[4] On October 16, 2020, Paladin got a new updated base version alongside Armor Customization options.[5]
